Ergonomic Mesh Office Chair Flip Up Armrests With Adjustable Height

edit: may 2023. we had these for a long time and i loved them!! i’d still give them 4/5 for the assembly. we had to get rid of them after 2 years due to a move, but we gifted them since they were in great condition still! worth the money.I'm knocking off 1 star because the assembly wasn't the easiest and the assembly manual is really badly written. In particular, the arm rests were so difficult to assemble and we definitely needed 2 people to assemble 1 chair because the arm rest is heavy and easily slips out of place while you're screwing the bolts.Nonetheless, the pain of assembling them was worth it because they're comfortable. We are happy with our purchase (we got 2 of them).

I needed an office chair for home. I wouldn't use it as much once the pandemic ended, so I didn't want to spend more than a couple hundred dollars. I also wanted a chair with arms that flipped up. (These arms do NOT adjust vertically.) I've had this only for a day so I can't speak to its durability. (There are quite a few reviews that report failures after a year or two.)ASSEMBLY: It arrived in a box (26 x 25 x11 inches). One of the armrests had a puncture (see photos). There are different size screws, so be careful to follow the diagrams. (They're labeled, "B" "C" "D" etc.) Also, the threads and screws are poorly machined, so it took several tries to get each screw to set correctly. DO NOT KEEP SCREWING IF YOU ENCOUNTER RESISTANCE, or you'll strip the threads. Keep trying until you get it right.WORKMANSHIP: The screws and screw holes are poorly machined, and the metal is soft. I think this is why some reviews mention this thing falling apart after a year or two. The foam cushioning in the seat and armrests feel okay but I can tell the foam isn't high density and will probably lose its cushioning over time. The knob that adjusts the tilt and tension is VERY difficult to turn. Both armrests squeal when I raise and lower them. Annoying.The only reason I'm not returning it is because I'd have to DISassemble it and pack it back into the box; and for a $115 refund it's not worth my time and effort. BOTTOM LINE: For the $115 price, this chair should be okay for a weekend home office. For everyday use, spend the money and get a well-made chair from a name-brand manufacturer.

I was excited to get this chair based on the number of positive reviews. The problems began with the instructions. They clearly called for pieces labeled "F" but there were no "F" options as you will see in the photo. The instructions emphatically stated to removed the cap from the cylinder that raises and lowers the chair, but there was not a cap on it. The cylinder was frozen and would not lift/lower the chair. Requested a replacement chair after emails and phone calls/messages were left with the manufacturer with no response. Replacement chair arrived with no assembly instructions. Thankfully I still had the original chair instructions to work from. One of the screw holes in the bottom of the seat was not threaded correctly prohibiting the screw from seating correctly. Used the seat from the first chair to assemble the second one. The first chair was a bear to dissemble as the cylinder would not come out of the chair base. Disappointing x2 on the process to get one workable chair. I will return after a bit of use with the chair. Glad I purchased the extended warranty. I don't have great confidence in this chair.

Update: used the chair for a few days, and its not comfortable for a full day of working. The foam is thin and not dense, so there is really no support across your bum. Also, im tilted a bit back, which causes a lot of fatigue, especially in my legs and hips. The seat is a little deep for a smaller person, too. Really bummed out because the chair looks nice, the flip up arms are nice, and it actually went low enough to the ground that my legs don't dangle above the floor.Will update after I've used it for a bit. I've been working long days (9+ hr) at home for two years now, and finally got a chair. I spent way too much time on here looking for what I wanted. Thus, photo of me sitting in it (i wished others had posted that)...I'm 5'3" and wanted a chair that 1. Wasn't for a giant person. My feet could be flat on ground, and seat not too deep. 2. Flip up arms so I can sit cross legged. 3. Fits in my small home office. 4. A bit of lumbar support. It seems I hit all those. Lumbar, I may have to respond later on that one.Putting it together was a breeze because packaging and part labeling super helpful. Even provided spares in case you screw up.My feet are solid on the floor, and I might use the chair above the lowest setting. Arms are great, and go all the way up out of the way, so you can sit any way you want. The color is great (true to expected), seems decent quality for what i paid, and it seems comfortable.

This chair ought to have been pretty simple to put together. It just requires attaching a bunch of bolts with an included Allen wrench. So, I was somewhat disappointed halfway through to find I was having trouble accomplishing the task. After some experimentation, I discovered that two of the eight holes in the bottom of the seat were improperly threaded, making it impossible to tighten the bolts more than a few turns and leaving the seat back, which was meant to be attached by theze bolts, somewhat wobbly.To their credit, the company responded almost immediately to my email describing this issue and, within a few days, shipped me a replacement seat. I tested the bolt holes before doing anything else, and they seem correctly threaded. I was therefore able to finish the assembly and the chair seems sturdy and comfortable, albeit a bit delayed.So, good job by the chair designers and the customer service people. Maybe quality control could be better, though.

Quick Summary:- Works well at first. Set up was fairly easy- After a few uses, one of the chairs stopped being adjustable. It would fall to the lowest height no matter what- The other chair is somehow now left leaning. It doesnt sit straight which messes with my posture.Long Summary:I had bought two of these chairs because I saw a bunch of good reviews and recommendations for them. They are for me and my girlfriend's home office. We bought them before we moved and after they were finally set up the worked well for a short while. Then, one of them started to become off center/left leaning. (Which is hard to tell from the image so I tried to draw a slightly exaggerated line.) The second chair, the tank must have leaked a lot or something just after a few uses. It does not go back up (as you can see in the video) and when it miraculously does, it doesn't stay up. It falls right back down to the lowest height. We tried a makeshift solution and bought some electrical tape and hose clamp from the closest box store and sadly it did not work. We'd like it to function properly (obviously) because we often shift the heights from table to table depending on what we're working on.I spent a decent amount of money on these chairs and for them to not even last the 4 months we've been at our new place is just disheartening. Wanted to write the before contacting support. Will have an update hopefully soon.

PROS: comfy seat (much better than my last desk chair), good adjustable seat height (especially for a 5'2" woman like me, and I like the cushioned armrests. Armrests flip up, which is nice.CONS: maybe it's just a problem with the product sent to me, but the backrest sits too low that it is NOT ergonomic for me. The apex of the lumbar support in the backrest hits below the lumbar part of my spine (like two inches above my tailbone). Therefore, I had to put my own lumbar support to match the curvature of my spine. It could be different for other people, given that I have a short torso or the chair sent to me has different specs. Backrest also leans too far back for me that it does not give a comfortable, upright posture while working.Assembly issues: It took me 1 hour to assemble because there was one screw hole that would not let the screw (item A in the manual) go deep enough to be flush agains the attachment. I kept trying to screw it in, but I was met with a lot of resistance. I thought it was maybe the screw, but it was able to screw into all other four holes behind the backrest. (pictured) How deep the screw would go smoothly into the screw hole (not that deep), until I forced it to screw in deeper. I also had some issues getting the back upper two screws (Screws C in the manual) to be flush against the attachment.OVERALL, would I order this again? No, because of the issues during assembly and its not suitable ergonomically for a short torso-5'2" woman. Would I return it? No, because I'm too lazy to go through the hassle as I just need it for work and school. It'll just have to do for now.

This is a smaller version of my other other chair. Only difference is that I have a stepping bar underneath.We received the item and the packaging was damaged but upon inspection all the stuff inside the box was usable.Assembly is clear and easy to follow. My 12 year old assembled the chair with minimal help. This is the first time assembling a heavy item so I just helped with the heavy weight and made sure all the screws were tightened.We didn’t use the original wheels on the chair but instead use the rollerblade wheels for the chair. It’s a lot smoother and will not collect hair like the original wheels on all chairs. Plus it’s quiet.We love that the chair is wide enough for an adult and it’s leather so any spillage on the chair can be easily wiped down. During the summer the mesh backing will help heat that may come from a person body.I would recommend this chair. Let’s see how long it’ll hold up.

It all depends on your expectations. If you're expecting something on the level of a Herman Miller Aeron for $100 you'll be disappointed. But if you're expectations are realistic, and you understand that what you're buying is a typical office supply store chair like the ones sold in Staples, Office Depot, etc., then you'll probably be reasonably satisfied. It's sturdy enough, although the mesh back has a flimsy feel to it, and if you do a lot of rocking and twisting, I'd imagine that eventually, possibly sooner than later, the chair will develop a wobble. But if you don't abuse it too much, and if you check and tighten the screws every few months it should hold up pretty well under moderate home usage. I wouldn't use it in a commercial office setting where you're sitting in it for eight hours a day, but for home use it seems like a good buy for what it is. The only metal pieces are the screws, the pins that connect the wheels, and possibly the bottom plate under the seat. Everything else is hard plastic and synthetic mesh. Takes about a half hour to screw everything into place by yourself, maybe sooner if you can grab a second pair of hands to assist. Comes with all of the pieces, tools and instructions needed. You even get a couple of extra screws. I like mine so far.UPDATE: And just one day after submitting my review I notice a slight side wobble under the seat. Nothing terrible, but it wasn't there when I used the chair yesterday.2nd Update: Since the first one seems to be holding up well, I bought two more to replace my worn out 15 year old chairs in the other rooms. Looks like it's a roulette spin with these. One box arrived with a hole in it, crinkled ends like an accordion, like someone dropped it from a second floor window. The other was just fine. Both assembled with no problems, but the one that came in the banged up box has a slight wobble somewhere in the plate under the seat. It's not bad enough to go through the hassle of returning it, but in comparison, the other chair is rock solid. I still think it's an adequate chair for home use if you don't rough it up too much.3rd Update: Two months later, the pneumatic cylinder on one of the chairs slides down occasionally and will need to be replaced eventually. The other two seem to be fine at the moment.4th Update: Okay, it's almost six years later, and two of the chairs are holding up just fine. The third one needs a pneumatic pipe replacement because it slides down from time to time, but otherwise it's doing well too. As expected, the cushion is a bit less firm and plump that it was out of the box, but then again, after six years of daily use, it's not bad. A little motion squeaking that's easily resolved with a few squirts of WD-40, but overall, I'm sufficiently satisfied with this chair to buy it again at the same price if needed.

Disclaimer: I just got this chair and put it together. I wanted to do this while it was still fresh on my mind, so please forgive me if this is wordy. I do not usually leave reviews, but this seemed to warrant one.Assembly: 1/5I bought this chair because I have back problems and needed something nice for working from home. Attempting to assemble this thing was an absolute nightmare which caused me physical pain. There are a couple main reasons for this. First and foremost is that the t-nuts your bolts screw into are not properly placed and not attempt has been made to compensate for the uneven surfaces causing the issue. They are skewed/inserted into the pieces of the chair at odd angles, with the direction depending on the location of the t-nut. For instance, one of the t-nuts on the bottom of the seat was inserted at an angle that caused the bolt to point towards the outside of the seat, resulting in the bolt not being able to be tightened to be flush with the seat arm piece it was attaching; a different t-nut in that same piece was angled towards the front. All of the t-nuts, every single one, has this issue to some extent, and it's not just the angle at which you screw in the bolt, it is the placement of the t-nuts in regards to one another (causing alignment issues when trying to build it). Secondly, the fabric covering the seat bottom is misaligned, causing interference when attempting to get the bolts threaded onto the t-nuts. Both of these issues combined result in you being forced to attempt multiple tries to align EACH BOLT before finding the "proper" alignment and finally being able to complete the build. What should have taken me 15 minutes took almost two hours. I build computers for a hobby and am a tinkerer by nature, so building things is something I do often, but this chair... if I had known what a horror it would be after assembling it, I never would have bought it. Because of the issues getting the bolts properly seated and tightened, I am scared for my safety in this thing. That is to say nothing of the fact that I've hurt my back, knee, and ankle, trying to flip this thing around and crouching over it in odd positions to get it assembled alone. In a word, absurd, this entire experience assembling this chair has been utterly absurd. Avoid this chair unless you have help, and if you are buying this to help alleviate back or other joint pain, don't bother with this one even if you have someone to assemble it for you. Not being able to tighten the bolts properly is a safety hazard you don't need with existing joint problems of any kind, and there are other quality issues I will go into below. If you do decide to buy this, do yourself a favor and get a friend or two to help you. Do not attempt to do this alone, no matter how tempting. Organize all of the included hardware into trays or bowls on a sturdy dining room table or something similar before you begin and do the assembly there. Do NOT tighten the bolts more than hand tight initially; because of the issues with the t-nuts not being precisely placed, there will be some awkward adjustments needed as you are constructing your chair. Inspect ALL of the t-nuts BEFORE you start building, and clear away any fabric covering the t-nuts; the fabric on the bottom of the seat is not attached to anything except along the edges, so this might be a bit tricky as it does shift. If you have joint problems, you may want to put on your support items (knee brace, ankle support, wrist support, etc) first; even with help, you will be flipping, holding at awkward angles, pulling, and pushing the pieces of this thing to get it together. I am including a photo of the seat bottom to show you what I mean by "misaligned fabric", as well as a photo of the instructions in case anyone needs them. Best of luck to you.Quality: 2/5The item came with instructions and all the necessary parts. However, both individually and fully assembled, those parts leave something to be desired. This goes back at least in some part to the issue with the t-nuts that caused the assembly to be a fresh hell. It is not just that, though. The item arrived with little in the way of protective packing material in the box. I am surprised there was not more damage to it. The "lumbar support" on the back is too low and is uncomfortable on my back; there is no way to adjust it on the chair. The mesh on the back sits against hard plastic and will rub there, likely causing a hole over time if you actually sit back against it. The seat fabric is held on by staples - this is something anyone with pets or small children should be aware of, as this is a possible safety concern. Some of the staples on the seat I received had corners sharp enough to cut. Speaking of the seat, it's made of polyurethane foam and is not very comfortable, especially if you have lower back problems as I do. I spent a lot of time looking at office chairs. I mean, A LOT of time.I started with a blank canvas and wanted to see what would be better than the $50 chair I was currently sitting it. It looks fine and has some padding, but really isn't good for sitting 4-6 hours straight in.RESEARCHSo, do you go with the "luxury" high end chairs? What can you get for under $300? Under $200?- In the end I decided that I really didn't need all of the features of the top-end ergonomic chairs (synchro-tilt, 3-way adjustable arm rests, adjustable lumber support, premium headrest, premium materials) ($800-2500 chairs) - think Aeron, Steelcase, etc.- I also decided I didn't want to spend $300-800 for one of the luxury ergonomic "wannabes" that LOOK like the high-end chairs and offer similar functionality, but with lower quality materials and build (and durability). This range also included used high end chairs like the Steelcase 2 because shopping for them on eBay could be hit and miss (though many discussion groups I saw loved this option).- I finally decided that for 4-6 hours a day, 3-days a week, I just wanted a chair that was comfortable on my bottom, was height-adjustable, had some tilt / tension control, and had arm rests that could flip out. My chairs tend to do double-duty as extra dining room chairs and the foldable arm rests are critical for that. The price range for these chairs were in the $80-180 range, and I looked at about a dozen different ones on Amazon that had decent reviews (and a lot of them). This was my "Goldilocks" range for a chair - not too expensive, not dirt cheap, "just right".I ended up ordering the blue fabric on black chair because I liked the look (about $125). The white chairs with fabric seem really popular (blue/white was $180!). After I ordered, the black leather seat chair was only $90. This seems like a really good deal.Anyway, the chair arrived today and here is my detailed review (so far):PACKAGING & ASSEMBLY INSTRUCTIONSI have included pictures of everything that came out of the 33 lb. package. I like the fact that all of the small parts (screws, washers, caps) were packaged together with a code (A, B, C, D etc.) The instructions referenced the parts code, so it was easy to follow the instructions to assemble the chair. I was very meticulous, and it took me about 40 minutes by myself. Parts of the instructions were vague about what and when the screws should be fully tightened and what they mean by "be sure the cylinder column cap has been taken off" (there was no cap as far as I could tell). I did see a few reviews where people complained about the assembly because they had some physical limitations. Good God, man, if it's that bad, go buy a chair at Home Depot and pay them $15 to assemble it for you!In this day and age though, a 3-minute video helps immensely if they had done one, but I suppose you then have to do it in multiple language. In any case, I gave this a 4 out of 5 stars.FIT, FUNCTION, APPEARANCE and COMFORTI would say (as other reviews have stated) this chair LOOKS really nice. The blue adds some color to my office, and the chair has a modern look - something more than the $125 I paid for it. The height adjustment works fine, as does the recline function and tension, though here, a short video on how to use it would have helped. The seat and back rest are very comfortable, but there is no separate lumbar support cushion - just the curve in the lower back for that. If you really crave lumbar support and functions, look elsewhere. The chair also glides very smoothly compared to my old one. But that's because dirt and dog hair haven't fouled up the wheels yet. Alls this is good for 4 out of 5 stars.LONG-RANGE PLANSSo, for now, I think this is a keeper unless something drastic happens with the chair in the next couple of weeks. I think I will get black rubber or polyurethane caster wheels to protect my hardwood floors though. Check the date of this review - 6/3/2024. If anything major changes, I will update the review. Otherwise, assume that the chair is still doing great. I hope I get 5-6 good years out of it at least. Would be ecstatic with that.

This is my sewing chair and I love that the arms can be pushed up and back out of the way. It's comfortable for sitting and easy to get in and out of, except I have to be careful it doesn't roll away when I sit. It's probably not the best idea to have rollers on a sewing chair but I like it and just have to careful.

I’ve used this chair for three years, everyday for several hours a day. I’m replacing it after almost exactly three years because the padding in the seat is worn down. I’m still giving 5 stars because for the price, three years is more than I expected. I hover around the max weight of 250 lbs. so the chair might hold up longer for a lighter person. After two years the metal bracket that attaches the seat to the legs broke. It was still in the warranty period and customer service sent me a replacement part free of charge which is still in good shape. The padding in the seat is shot though. I’ve been putting off replacing it for a few months and it has just gotten too uncomfortable to sit in with no padding left. Obviously a chair at this price won’t last forever, especially with everyday use, but it’s great for the price and lasted a little longer than I expected since I was maxing out the weight limit.

Originally purchased this for occasional use as home office desk chair three years ago. Worked well for two years of light use, much better than the thrift store chair it replaced. For the price, it seemed like a fairly good deal.Then, COVID. It has now been subjected to six months of daily use, and it has not held up. The screws falling out/missing could be operator error from assembly. The fact that the top of the chair is no longer level, and tilts randomly when I try to sit in it - that's a problem. Sometimes I can jiggle the handle that controls the height of the chair back into alignment, and the tilting isn't nearly as bad. Until it is again.It's going to be replaced with something better suited for continuous use.Bottom line - if you are looking for something with adequate back support, inexpensive, and suited for occasional use, this is still a good buy. If you are looking for a good home office desk chair for full-time use, you're probably not going to find it at this price point.
